Desert Bus for Hope 2020 Game Jam
Showdown at Desert Bus is a Unity game and submission for the 2020 Desert Bus for Hope Game Jam, which runs in support of the charity Child’s Play. This title was made within a week, with a team of 5 developers. Our given prompt was to make a game featuring a desert bus (a nod to the infamous Atari 2600 game of the same name) and the narrative/gameplay must feature a “device” of significant importance. We were given free reign over game genre, and opted to make a third person hack-and-slash, where the player controls a sheriff bus trying to defeat an evil alien emperor on a moving train. So pretty tame, all things considered. You can play it here!
I was a level designer, game designer, 3D modeler, and I created the AI for the spawn, navigation, and destruction of the exploding cacti enemies. Players have to find several pieces of a device hidden throughout the train to beat the game. The order of the rooms is randomly generated at the beginning of the game. I created each room variation, and where the device may appear.
